How to install the perfect mural 1

Hi there! Lou here. If you're like me, you love to decorate your home. I'm ready to give my house its summer makeover, and of course, I'll be using our peel & stick murals - the hottest decor trend these days! I'm sure you've seen murals all over your favourite blogs, magazines or even on TV. They're so "in" right now, and for a reason! They're an easy, affordable way to instantly transform any room with color & design. Read on to learn our tried & true hacks to get the perfect mural look in your own home.

Hack #1: Find a design you love

A great mural starts with a good design that matches your decor. Yes, it's a removable wall mural - but that still doesn't mean you want to switch it up every month! Find a print that's fresh, fits with your personal style, and matches the room you're planning for. Our selection is full of hand-drawn art, which I love. It's completely unique, and it also means you'll be able to easily find that special one that speaks to you. There's anything from bold abstracts to kid-friendly prints to toned-down florals.

Hack #2: Use peel & stick for best results

Murals come in two different varieties: Traditional (that's the old-fashioned kind you paste on your wall), and peel & stick (the new kid on the block, and the reason those magazine homes look so great). Ours are peel & stick - and the best part about that is that they're so easy to apply. All you need to install the wall murals are basic tools and some patience (which we can all use more of these days!)

Hack #3: Make sure it's removable (and yes, quality matters)

People are fickle creatures (some philosophy for you). While you love your mural now, you may need to switch rooms for a new baby, move house (rental trouble anyone?) or just make a change. And trust me - if you do, you're going to love me for this tip. Make sure you get a truly-removable mural – quality matters here, so don't skimp on this. For example, these ones are printed on premium matte woven material, which is strong but flexible. They're also PVC-free, which means safe to apply in the bedroom! Plus, the special adhesive on the back is meant to stick to the surface gently. This ensures I can later take it off without damaging my walls.

Hack #4: Prep your walls

Now, before you start applying your mural to the wall, make sure that they're clean. Wipe them down with a damp cloth and dry off any moisture - this will ensure there's no dirt or dust on my walls when you put up that beautiful mural! If your wall has bumps or holes, smooth or fill them to help your mural stick.
